Matthieu-Amanda (They/Them) is a passionate advocate and dedicated professional with a deep commitment to supporting others. Originally from New York City, they grew up on the streets, navigating life on their own from the age of 16. Their journey has been shaped by personal struggles, including homelessness, incarceration, food insecurity, PTSD, and trauma. These experiences have fueled their unwavering passion to help others, as they understand firsthand what it feels like to need support. Matthieu-Amanda is a true survivor—overcoming immense odds and emerging stronger from every challenge life has thrown their way.
In addition to their personal resilience, Matthieu-Amanda’s career spans over a decade in the nonprofit sector, where they have worked with diverse communities, including foster children and families, at-risk and unhoused individuals, and those affected by HIV/AIDS.
They recently ventured into entrepreneurship by founding a child, yard and home care LLC to assist disabled individuals, elders, those experiencing depression, hoarding challenges, and hard working parents/folks. Matthieu-Amanda’s work is driven by a deep desire to help others overcome barriers and create meaningful, positive change.
Despite growing up in special education, and earning their GED in their 72days of incarceration;
Matthieu-Amanda earned a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology with a minor in Psychology from Lehman College and an Associate’s degree in Criminal Justice from A.S.A. Community College. They provide a harm reduction, trauma-informed care approach; while providing non-judgmental, empathetic support.
In their free time, Matthieu-Amanda enjoys a variety of activities that allow them to connect with nature and adventure. Whether it's riding their bike, playing pool, traveling, seeking new experiences, attending events, chasing sunsets and sunrises, or swimming in any body of water (they’re a bit of a fish at heart), they embrace life with a spirit of joy and resilience.
